Description

This Kodiak bear sow spent the afternoon fishing for salmon in a lake at Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. She had caught several salmon for herself before nursing her cubs in the grassy meadow next to the lake. She noticed two more sows with cubs of their own arriving at the lake to feed. She quickly rose to her feet focusing her attention on the new guests. After a few moments, she took her cubs into the protection of the brush.
